Imphal, January 09 2020:
A non-local, who had entered Manipur yesterday with an ILP pass to visit his friends, was found dead, riddled with multiple bullet injuries, at Terapokpi Chingdol yesterday afternoon.
According to a police source, locals of Terapokpi village lodged a report to the OC of Sekmai PS yesterday, informing that an unknown non-local was brought to the hill top of Terapokpi Chingdol by some 3/4 unidentified individuals inside a car, where they shot him multiple times, killing him in the process.
Immediately, a team of Sekmai PS along with a team of Imphal West commandos, rushed to the spot and found the bullet riddled body of the non-local.
The area was cordoned off and during investigation by the State forensic science expert team, an Aadhaar card bearing the name of Nilesh Baburao Jadhav s/o Baburao Jadhav of 6 Banstalla Lane, Barabazar, Kolkata, was found.
Among the belongings of the deceased, the police also recovered a temporary ILP pass which was issued in the name of Nilesh Baburao Jadhav from yesterday till January 22, and it was mentioned in the pass that the deceased was visiting his friends at Lilong.
The body was later picked up and deposited at RIMS morgue (with post mortem scheduled for tomorrow) and a case was also registered at Sekmai PS .
