Imphal, July 01 2019:
In a bid to spread awareness and to save the environment from pollution, Regional CRPF Family Welfare Association (RCWA), CRPF GC, Imphal, planted 120 orange trees at GC CRPF campus, today.
A press release issued by the Deputy Inspector General of Police, GC CRPF Imphal, stated that Anshuman Yadav, IPS, IGP, CRPF, Manipur and Nagaland Sector attended the event as the chief guest and all the officers, SOs, jawans were also present as well.

Speaking at the event, Anshuman Yadav extended good wishes to the officers, members of RCWA and the children present at the event and motivated them to make the environment clean.
He also spoke about the benefits of planting trees and explained that trees are the source of oxygen living animals breathe and they also help in reducing storm water runoff, reduce erosion and pollution in waterways thus reducing floods.
Many wildlife depends on trees for habitat and trees provide food, protection and shelters for birds and mammals, he added.
On the other hand, all the senior officers and RCWA attempted to make the people aware of the need to keep the environment clean and green.
The officers, RCWA members and children also engaged in a mass plantation drive as a part of the event.
