Awareness programme on fundamental duties held

The Lamka Core in collaboration with Nehru YuvaKendra Sangathan (NYKS) organised an awareness programme on "Fundamental Duties in Indian Constitution today" at Rayburn College.
The event addressed by NYKS Co-ordinator Henkholun Doungel, Vice Principal of Rayburn College T Lianchinpau, a retired Indian Foreign Service Officer LT Ngaihte among others, was organised to make the public aware of the need to perform one's duties to fully enjoy his or her rights.
T Lawmpi, Lecturer Department of Political Science Rayburn College and Chairman Lamka Core made a detail presentation on the Fundamental duties of every citizen of the country.
He said, "the fundamental rights enshrined in the Constitution protects the liberties and freedom of the citizens and are very essential for the all-round development of the individual and the country, but its true success depends on the execution of fundamental duties, which are also equally enshrined in the Constitution" .
A concept notes released by the organiser said, 'while fundamental rights strengthen our democracy, fundamental duties are essential to strengthen our society.
Adherence to them will ensure common brotherhood, fortify our unity and integrity, and improve the quality of life.
A good understanding and a realistic approach on fundamental duties is a must as Churachandpur district has the most diverse society in the state' .
