Danny Shaiza passes away

Danny Shaiza, one of the most prominent leaders of BJP Manipur from the Tangkhul community and the first Naga BJP MLA from Ukhrul AC, passed away at 65, this afternoon in Imphal.
Son of former Chief Minister late Yangmaso Shaiza who served as the Chief Minister of Manipur for two terms, Danny Shaiza was elected for three consecutive terms to the Manipur Legislative Assembly.
Danny Shaiza was born on September 21, 1954 and began his political career when he contested State Assembly election held in 1995 on Janata Dal ticket.
He later joined BJP in 2000 and got elected for three consecutive terms.
On the other hand, Chief Minister N Biren Singh has condoled the untimely demise of the veteran politician.
He conveyed that Danny Shaiza had a remarkable record of public service and good works and he was a leader whose contribution and generosity will always be remembered by the people of Manipur.
With his demise, the people have lost an accomplished politician and a great public leader.
His absence will leave a huge void in the political circle of the State, Biren said, conveying his deepest condolences and sympathies to the bereaved family.
He also prayed that the departed soul may rest in peace.
Meanwhile, BJP General Secretary (Org), NE States Ajay Jamwal, on behalf of the party, has also condoled the demise of Danny Shaiza.
He further shared his deepest sympathies to the bereaved family.
