Imphal, November 28 2011:
If the bandhs and blockade carried out by certain organizations and individuals create no problems to the daily wage earners and common people of the state, they are free to carry out their blockade for 100 years, said International Lainingthou Sanamahi Faith and Believers Forum.
The International Lainingthou Sanamahi Faith and Believers Forum organized a public meeting at the State guest House today whereby they took a number of resolutions among which the above statement was one of them.
The meeting which was attended by leaders of various religious communities further resolved to create a Minister in charge of responding to public grievances and to press the Supreme Court to issue an order to wipe out the roots of bandhs and economic blockade from the country.
The meeting was graced by MLA T Mangibabu who is the Chief Whip of the state government as the Chief Guest.
Maichou of Sana konung, Wangkhem Ibobi Meetei, delegate of Manipur Catholic Youth Organisation, Prince Chetri, Advocate Taslam Khan, Joint Secretery of Gurudwar Parban Committee Puran Singh, and Advisor of ISKON Development Committee Sathi Das were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA T Mangibabu said that all religions teach us to live together peacefully as one.
But the people following various religions ignore this teaching and try to dominate other religions by their own religion which has led to all the problems in the present society.
It because that we only think about ourselves that the Manipuri society has totally collapsed.
The people of the state have forgotten that we all belong to the same human community and all humanitarian behaviour has also totally disappeared, he said.
He further went on to say that coming up with economic blockade causing endless trouble to the people is not an act of human behaviour.
Sticking to a certain demand without considering the ill effects is not the right approach.
There should always be room for negotiations or else no community can live together peacefully in a particular society.
