Imphal, April 24 2011:
The Revolutionary People's Front (RPF) today came down heavily on Chief Minister, O Ibobi of speaking on his imagination.
This was based on his speeches made in various functions with regard to the Manipur-India relationship.
The Chief Minister will on occasion say that Manipur has a history of more than 2000 years, and then he will say on another occasion that Manipur is a part of the Indian Union.
He will then again say Manipur's sovereignty cannot be broken by India or any other super power.
Next He will say that India's integrity cannot be disintegrated by any force.
All these statements are figments of his imagination and a part of government's hidden agenda to create confusion among the masses in the state, the proscribed RPF alleged in a statement signed by its publicity secretary T Leishemba today.
Recalling the merger of Manipur to the Indian Union, the statement said that the 'agreement' which force Manipur to merge with India on October 15, 1949 was done by breaking all protocol.
At that time, India did not have a constitution of its own while Manipur had its own government formed by elected representatives of the people.
That was why, it has been alleged that the Manipur Merger Agreement was an illegal one.
No one so far argued against this allegation, the RPF said.
There are many things which Ibobi has to know.
Sovereignty of a country cannot be decided by its size or its population.
It depends on the decision of the people.
Leave aside India, no force in the world could prevent Manipur's fight for sovereignty if the people of Manipur stand united.
The defeat of USA in the hands of Cuba and Vietnam are the standing examples to prove this point, the statement said adding that it was due to the spirit and courage of our forefathers that Manipur has a history more than 2000 years old.
Ibobi cannot mislead the people.
It would be for Ibobi to take care before making such contradictory statements, the statement added.
