Imphal, April 20 2013 :
The proscribed UG group, Revolutionary People's Front (RPF) has alleged that the abduction and torture of a driver by some persons who speak Hindi on April 10 must have been carried out by Indian Security Forces to tarnish the image of revolutionary organisations in Manipur.
In a statement signed by its Secretary Publicity Roben Khuman, RPF stated that abduction of someone in broad daylight in the presence of many civilians and amid tight security posts could never be the handiwork of any revolutionary groups.
It only affirmed that the act was carried out by Indian security forces and their pet state forces.
It was fortunate for the driver to know that some of the abductors spoke Hindi at the time and they let him go after torturing and threatening to kill him if he said anything about their conduct to the media.
Otherwise, the fate of the driver would have been uncertained with high possibilities killing him by the abductors only to put the blame on some UG organisations, the statement asserted.
It further stated that Indian Army has lost its patriotism in Manipur as they are actively or passively engaging in torturing the people and trying to eliminate the indigenous people under various policies and agenda like drug warfare, surrender drama and others, which have been long forgotten by the world after the Second World War.
On the other hand, they are organising various Civic Action programmes to trap the people.
The statement asked the Indian Security Forces to keep in mind that RPF and people of Manipur do not have any soft corner for them in their heart and they will have to face the retaliation of RPF and the people.
Meanwhile, RPF questioned the silence of rights bodies and various other NGOs and CSOs in the state over the incident of abducting the driver and torturing him for four days in the captivity of Indian Security Forces.
