MANY CIVIL organizations offered gifts to the people following Christian religion as a mark of celebration of Christmas yesterday.
Today also such offering of gifts continued at various part of the state.
The National Identity Protection Committee (NIPCO) offered eatables and water tanks to the people hailing from various hill areas of the state today in a function.
While giving his wish to the people on the occasion NIPCO, president, Y Nabachandra said that concerted effort of the people from both hills and valley to develop hill areas will bring peace and harmony in the state and called upon the people to take share in bringing up a balance in developments.
While observing that the impact on the integrity of the state due to the differences in religions by ethnic people together in the state since the very beginning, he said such difference of religions one follow should not be factor to the integrity of the state.
On the occasion, NIPCO gifted water tank of 500 litres capacity to the Bilaikhun and Lamlairol village of Senapati district, offered sugar and tea leave while wishing the people at Lamlai Phaizol and Satang village under Sadar Hill sub-division.
Another team of NIPCO led by its vice-president and secretary also went to the churches in Churachandpur district like Boljang, Khoirentak Khunou and Khoirentak Khuman and gifted water tanks and eatables to the villagers and wishes the people on the occasion of Christmas and New Year.
