Foiling the obstructions given by some inmates in the Shajiwa Jail, the four hardcore underground cadres have been shifted to Tihar Jail, Delhi yesterday.
Superintendent of Tihar Jail (headquarter) AK Malhotra received the cadres yesterday at 2.53 pm from the authority of the Manipur police who carry them.
While shifted the four cadres, Manipur government spend an estimated fund of Rs.2.35 lakhs.
The four cadres will be lodging at Tihar jail till their NSA detention period ended.
They have been detent by separate orders of the state government at different dates three to four months back, according to sources.
Sanjenbam Khomba alias Wanglen Khuman alais Wangthoi alias Nongdrenkhomba alias Captain Basil (26) son of Modhu of Toudhong Lamkhai who is among the four cadres was former UNLF cadre caught by the Army at Simla (Himachal Pradesh) and brought to Shajiwa Jail, Imphal.
He has been charged of maintaining link with KCP (MC) Nando group.
Thoudam Naobi alias Naobicha alias Ishingchoaba alias Boby alias Tomba alias Water alias Laija (35) son of Gopeshwor of Uripok Yambem Leikai was arrested as a second lieutenant of the KCP, Khangenbam Raju alias Apabi alias Knig (31) son of Iboyaima of Keishamthong Hodam Leirak was apprehended as private of the KYKL and Potssangbam Leibakmacha Meetei alias Tomba (36) son of Amuyaima Meetei of Pukhao was also nabbed as a private of KRA.
The four who have been lodging in the jail after government order detention of them under National Security Act (NSA) since the last around three to four months.
The transportation of the four undergrounds from the Shajiwa Jail which was schedule at 5.30 am so as to reach the Tulihal Airport at 8 am was delayed due to the obstruction by other inmates and sympathizers.
A combined team of Imphal east and west police commandos rushed to the spot and managed to reach airport by a delay of three and a half hour at 11.30 am.
The special aircraft hired from the BSF authority by the Manipur government with a calculated cost of Rs 2.35 lakhs which would be reflected to the jail head of the state budget.
The aircraft arrived at New Delhi at around 2.30 pm and the four cadres were handed over to the superintendent of Tihar Jail, AK Malhotra exactly at 2.53 pm, source quoting the special report regarding the shifting of them submitted by the jail authority to the state home department said.
A jemandar of the state police department and his assistant who accompanied the four cadres while transferring from Shajiwa jail, Imphal to Tihar Jail, Delhi has left Delhi today for Imphal.
Source, in the meantime said that the jemandar and his assistant who accompanied in the shifting of PULF top leader IM Khan recently are still staying at the jail.
