Resham Krishi mela cum exhibition held at Ukhrul

Ukhrul, February 23 2019:
A one-day programme on Resham Krishi Mela Cum Exhibition was held today at Tushen Village, Ukhrul.
The Mela was inaugurated by headman of Tushen Village AS Shinmi by cutting the ribbon and inspected the Exhibition stalls.
Speaking at the occasion, Dr N Ibotombi Singh, Scientist-D & Head, RSRS Imphal stated that the Central Silk board of India mandate programme for the extension and communication and its main objective is to create a platform for farmers, entrepreneurs and the department on introducing new sericulture technology.
The chief guest later released a booklet written in Tangkhul dialect detailing on how to rear and cultivate silk worm.
Later, the department distributed certificate and gift to three fanners recognized as best mulberry growers of Ukhrul district.
Dr Soumen Chattopaghyay, Scientist-D, CSR & TI, Berhampore, Dr S Kunjakishore Singh, Dept of Director Sericulture, Dr Debaraj Scientist-D RSRS, Imphal and Dr L Somen Singh, Scientist-D RSRS, Imphal attended the programme as dignitaries.
More than one hundred farmers from Ukhrul and others districts of Manipur attended the one day Resham Krishi Mela Cum Exhibition organized by Regional Sericulture Research Station, Central silk board, Ministry of Textiles, Govt of India, Mantripukhri, Imphal.
