Imphal, November 17 2009:
All Manipur Anti-Drug Association (AMADA), in collaboration with the Manipur Chemists' and Druggists' Association (MCDA), has given 'Lobain' capsules to 21 rehab centres under the Ministry of Justice and Social Empowerment which have performed their works sincerely.
The distribution function was held today at the office of AMADA located at Keishampat with the general secretary of AMADA, S Phony, assistant secretary of AMADA, Ph Abe, and general secretary of MCDA, RK Ratankumar as the presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, assistant secretary of AMADA, Abe said, the association has work closely with the drug de-addiction workers of the state.
The shortage of Lobain capsule, an important drug for treating drug addicts, since October 2008 has caused much inconvenience to the workers of rehab centres.
The AMADA has urged the manager of the company which manufactured the capsule in March this year.
During the meeting, the AMADA members had persuaded the manager to manufacture the drug within the year in order to alleviate the problem faced by drug de-addiction workers, Abe said.
According to the agreement reached in the meeting, the drug has been made available from today through the Manipur Chemists' and Druggists' Association.
The rehab centres were given the capsule at subsidised rate.
