Imphal, February 14 2011:
Demanding an end to the stalemate between the striking teachers under the aegis of COTA and the state government, DESAM warned of a stern stir by the education deprived students if an amicable solution is not brought about.
In a press release, DESAM stated that the state government isnot taking the issue seriously.
In one instant, they agreed to meet the demand of the teachers and signed a MoU with the teachers.
On the other hand, the CM is talking of not giving the 6th Central Pay in toto in every function he has attended.
In the meantime, college teachers have also begun a stir against the government demanding full implementation of UGC pay scale.
All these stirs affect the student community directly.
In spite of this situation, the state government is not doing anything flouting the Right to Education for students.
Taking serious concern of the prevailing situation, DESAM has warned that the state government will be responsible for any unwanted incidents that may arise from this stalemate between the striking teachers and the government.
