International Peace and Social Advancement (IPSA) today sent a strong message to agitating teachers/doctors and nurses at Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences, Porompat stating that they should not stop the services - OPD and casualty at the hospital.
The message came amidst ceasework called by the Teachers Association and APSRA Committee of JNIMS following their various demands on which the JNIMS authority had assured to take decisions on by February 28.Speaking to media persons at its office in Keishampat, IPSA president Konthoujam Joychandra said that the members and volunteers of IPSA will conduct inspection tomorrow and will take action against the doctors who are found not performing their duties at the hospital.
He appealed the teachers association, nurses and doctors concerned to call off their cease work strike and perform their duties in public interest.
Stating that healthcare services are noble profession which are respected everywhere, he said that doctors, nurses and other staffs of the hospital should uphold and promote their noble services.
He even reminded the agitating teachers/doctors and nurses that history has shown that these noble professions dedicated and continued their services even during war times saving the wounded soldiers.
Urging the doctors and nurses to adopt other form of agitation to demonstrate their protest, he asserted that the ceasework called has undermined the noble profession.
"IPSA is not against the agitating doctors/nurses.
IPSA has been working for the welfare of the doctors and nurses for years," he said and continued that IPSA will lend all possible help to the doctors and nurses in their demands except ceasework strike.
IPSA is ready to lend its support and find a viable solution at the earliest.
It will also appeal the Government to device a favourable and sound policy for the JNIMS doctors, nurses and other staffs, he said.
