Kangpokpi widows commemorate 3rd year of fasting prayer

Kangpokpi, April 27 2019:
Embarking on with a fasting prayer under the motto, "Thy Maker is Thine Husband" based on Gospel Isaiah 54:5 since 2016, widows from Kangpokpi area commemorated its third years of fasting prayer today at Salom Prayer & Healing Centre, Kangpokpi DHQs.
Dedicating a day for 'fasting prayer' with an aim to prevail peace and harmony in the district and most importantly seeking empowerment of widows and help from the Almighty to be self-reliant, the widows of Kangpokpi DHQs fast and pray the whole day at Salom Prayer & Healing Centre Kangpokpi.
A monolith was also erected by the widows to mark its third years of fasting prayer which was unveiled and dedicated by Rev Thangsat Kipgen who attended as minister of the commemoration function.
Kangpokpi Town Churches Fellowship (KTCF) Chairman, Rev K Hangshing, Pastor J Lunkim, KCC, Rev Lamkeng, Pastor, KBC Centre Church, Kangpokpi, Pastor Jangsat Chongloi, CRC and various other Churches and CSOs leaders also participated the event.
More than 200 widows across Kangpokpi area took part in the fasting prayer.
Veineilhing Vaiphei, Chairperson of the widow's fellowship said despite of all hurdles and hardships woman who become widow after attaining maturity age could somehow manage herself and her family, but those women who become widow at a very young age are crucial and need proper guidance.
She continued that as said in the Bible, God's always hear the humble prayer of widows, we committed ourselves to the Lord and prays for welfare of widows especially who become a widow at a very young age and for their children and families.
