Trust reaches out to destitutes

Imphal, April 27 2019:
Three households which have fallen in tough times, were given aid and assistance by Thongam Sajou Memorial Trust, Ningomthong Bazaar today.
The trust distributed aid and assistance to the families of Moirangthem Sanathoi of Wangjing Laishram Leikai, Loitongbam Rozer of Lamboi Khongnangkhong and Naorem Manglemjao of Patsoi Mayai Leikai.
Moirangthem Sanathoi is currently a 4th Semester student at Wangjing YK College.
Her father, Moirangthem Biren, has been rendered bed-ridden for a long time due to an illness.
Sanathoi's sister was also recently diagnosed with TB and is currently under medication.
Sanathoi is the eldest of three sisters.
She and her mother have been managing the household by braving through the hurdles of life.
And as respect and recognition of her perseverance and hard work, the trust decided to extend aid to her family.
On the other hand, Loitongbam Rozer earns money by pasting flex posters.
He is around 27/28 years old and recently, he sustained serious injuries after he received electric shock while trying to climb and paste a flex poster on a post.
He had to undergo a head surgery and he is currently resting at his home recovering from the surgery.
Naorem Manglemjao, is a Tata driver who imports rice from Jiri to Imphal.
Following an accident in October last year, he was treated for more than 3 months at JNIMS and he is currently bed-ridden at home and unable to move or work.
The members of the trust personally went and met the three individuals today and also offered financial assistance to them.
The members of the trust also announced that a pension of Rs 2000 will be provided every month for each of the three households and also assured to find suitable source of income for the three families.
The trust was established in memory of Works Minister Th Biswajit's late grandfather.
The Minister's wife, Thongam Junreiwon and other members of the trust were present during the trip.
