World Veterinary Day observed

The Registrar, Manipur State Veterinary Council, Sanjenthong Imphal observed World Veterinary Day at the auditorium of Lamyanba Shanglen, Palace Compound today.
Professor M Premjit Singh, Vice Chancellor, Central Agricultural University, Dr H Chaoba Singh, Director, Vety and AH Services and Dr S Joykumar Singh, retd Director, Vety and AH Services graced the event as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
Winners of a photo competition held in connection with the observance were also felicitated during the observance.
Speaking as chief guest of the event, Prof M Premjit lauded Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Services Manipur for organising the programme.
Saying that Central Government is working towards introduce triple cropping system by 2022 to double farmers' income, he urged all the farmers to adopt proper farming systems and equipment to become more productive and make the State self-sufficient in food production.
Animals are administered free medicine/ vaccines and provided medical treatment in different parts of the State today, Premjit said and urged all to treat animals with love and care.
Premjit advised all to vaccinate their domestic animals and poultry regularly to avoid mass death, epidemic and be safe from many diseases.
Dr H Chaoba Singh also spoke at the event.
