Decrying the State Government's apathy towards the injuries suffered by a lecturer of CC Higher Secondary School, Konsam Santosh Kumar, during the April 22 twin blasts near Minuthong, the students' union of the school has warned that they will launch intense forms of agitation if the Government fails to give proper compensation to the victim by April 30 .
Speaking to media persons at the school today, the general secretary of CC Higher Secondary School Students' Union, Tongbram Naradaya lamented that none of the State Government representatives came to the hospital where the injured lecturer had undergone treatment and none of the Government officials have come to visit and enquire about the victim till date.
He claimed that Santosh Kumar underwent treatment at his own expense in a private hospital and was discharged yesterday.
Further pointing out that it is the responsibility of the State Government to compensate the victims hurt in any of the untoward incident related with the State's law and order situation, like the bomb blast, the general secretary urged the Government to do the needful within April 30 .
Naradaya also demanded the State Government to investigate the April 22 bomb blast and take up appropriate measures to prevent any such occurrence in future.
He then warned that the students' union will carry out intense forms of agitation if the State Government does not pay heed to their demand.
Mention may be made that 45 year old Santosh Kumar was injured in the twin blast which occurred between the Assam Rifles transit camp and the office of Manipur Mountain Trekking Association located at Minuthong in the evening of April 22 .
