Hero Junior League : BMSC thrash FC Imphal City 8-1; NEROCA outperform TRAU 3-1

Birachandra Memorial Sporting Club (BMSC) thrashed FC Imphal City 8-1 in the first match while NEROCA defeated TRAU 3-1 in the second match of the Hero Junior League 2018-19 organised under the aegis of All India Football Federation (AIFF) at Khuman Lampak Turf ground today.
At the end of the 5th round of league matches, BMSC is leading the table with higher number of goals even though both BMSC and NEROCA gathered same points.
In the first match, BMSC took the early lead in the 7th minute through Michael Lunminlal Kipgen which was doubled by L Kheljit in the 14th minute but L Robinson Singh of FC Imphal City reduced the goal margin to 1-2 in the 37th minute which remain the same till the end of the first half.
After the changeover, BMSC started its marauding form to destroy the defence of FC Imphal City adding 6 more goals in the second half to take the game away beyond the reach of FC Imphal City.
L Kheljit led the plunder to make it 3-1 in the 57th minute while Athokpam Jackson Singh of FC Imphal City conceded an own goal in the 61st minute to give BMSC a healthy 4-1 lead.
Grinson Laitonjam joined the party to make it 5-1 five minutes later which was further extended to 7-1 through two successive goals by Kh Pravananda in the 85th and 87th respectively.
Michael Lunminlal Kipgen then scored his second goal of the match in the (90+2)th minute to wrap the match with a massive margin of 8-1 goals over FC Imphal City.
In the second match, NEROCA got better off TRAU by 3-1 goals in a keenly contested match.
Both the team started the match cautiously and but NEROCA booked an early lead 9 minutes into the match when L Sushil Singh found the back of the net to give his team 1-0 lead while Giftson Kamei of NEROCA doubled the lead in the 22nd minute by placing the ball needly inside the net.
TRAU, then started mounting pressure to remain into the game and their efforts were paid off in the 41st minute through Mahesh Singh Yumnam to make the scoreline read 1-2 at the end of the 1st half.
In the second half, Giftson Kamei again struck another goal in the 86th minute to seal match with 3-1 goals over TRAU.
The next match will be played between NEROCA FC, Sangakpham and FC Imphal City on April 28 at 10 am at NEROCA, Sangakpham home ground while TRAU will battle it out with Birchandra SC at 2 pm at TRAU Kwakeithel home ground.
