Imphal, June 21 2015 :
The All Manipur Students' Union had set a deadline for the state government to come up with a corrective measure in banning gambling culture at the fun fair happening in various localities of the State.
The students' body also alleged that the Deputy Commissioners who issued the permission to organise Fair never monitor the actual scene happening around specially gambling practices which have become a serious concern.
It is also alleged that the Fair organisers flout and added many gambling stalls which lead to the moral degradation in the society.
It is also alleged that many outsiders had introduced various gambling practices and the people are attracted to the new things leading to day light robbery.
If the ill practice is not stopped in time the matter will become worse and the society will face a grave situation.
In fact gambling is the cause of broken families, opined AMSU.
The students' body also threatened to ban all kinds of Fair with the help of public starting June 26 if the government fails to take up corrective measures.
