Today’s tally: Five bombs hurled, two explode

Imphal, January 21, 2012:
With the Manipur State Assembly Elections round the corner, bomb attacks on candidates and workers seem to gain momentum with yet another 5 bombs hurled out of which two exploded.
Unidentified miscreants hurled a bomb which exploded at Heinouram Awang Leikai in Sugnu at around 10:10 pm yesterday which exploded.
No one was hurt in the incident.
Another bomb was also hurled and exploded at the residence of one Th Jilakanta (50), s/o Th Kalu of Awang Khunnou Maning Leikai yesterday at around 8:30 in the morning.
No one was hurt in the blast.
An IED was found planted at the entrance of the residence of Trinamool Congress candidate, L Shusindro alias Yaima of Khurai A/C at around 12:30 pm today.
The half a kg weight IED was fitted in a plastic bottle which could have been connected to a mobile.
The IED was later retrieved by bomb expert teams of the Manipur Police and disposed off at Kongpal at around 2:10 pm.
Today at around 8:15 am, yet another bomb was hurled at the residence of one H Tombi (55), s/o H Ningthou.
The bomb was later recovered by the police and exploded at a safe place.
Another bomb was hurled at the house of one K Shyambabu (45) of Okram Chuthek early this morning.
The Chinese made hand grenade was later recovered by the police.
Yet another incident, a bomb was also hurled at the office of NPF at Ukhrul Head Quarters yesterday at around 8:30 pm.
