State Level Orange Festival likely on 9 & 10 Dec

Tamenglong, November 15 2011:
The State Level Orange Festival Committee today held a meeting at the office chamber of Deputy Commissioner Tamenglong and discussed the details for organising State Level Orange Festival.
The festival is likely to be held on 9 and 10 December 2011 at Mini Stadium Tamenglong HQs.
The organising committee has proposed to invite Union Home Minister, Government of India as Chief Guest.
The committee is waiting for the state government's approval.
The organising committee has allotted Rs three lakhs for best oranges and one lakh for Orange Queen.
The committee also decided to award Rs two lakhs and one for second and third position of the best oranges.
The first and second runners up would get Rs 75 and 50 thousand respectively.
While inviting the other district to contest in the orange queen, the committee has decided to have
six sub- titles.
The orange growers should bring at least 5000 oranges for the competition this year.
The committee and sub- committee of state level orange festival remain almost same.
Slight change has been made today in the sub- committee.
In the meantime, Orange Growers Farmer Association will be holding a meeting on 16 November at Indoor Stadium Tamenglong in connection with the state level oranges festival.
It may be recalled here that the Chief Guest of the last orange festival- O Ibobi Singh, Chief Minister, Manipur assured the growers to give Rs three lakhs for best oranges.
