Transporters warns of cease work

Imphal, November 15 2011:
The Gwaltabi & Yaingangpokpi Road Transport Association has categorically stated that the transporters may have no option but to stop passenger service if the government does not take up necessary steps to ensure adequate fuel supply to the transporters.
In a statement, the Association rued that the arrangement made by the government for supplying fuel to passenger vehicles after every 5/6 days too has stopped on the ground of reserving for essential services, thus creating lot of difficulties to the transporters in ensuring normal service.
Does passenger service not under essential services ?, the Association asked, while drawing the attention of all concerned to the difficulties being faced by the transporters following shortage of fuel in the wake of over 100 days long economic blockade along the National Highways.
