Imphal, January 13 2013 :
The National Executive Committee meeting of Communist Party of India (CPI) held from January 11 to 12 at Bhubaneswar has resolved to demand the central Government to be transparent on the issue of peace negotiation between the Government of India and NSCN (IM) .
The meeting also noted that the settlement of the Naga insurgency issue without making any provocation to the other neighbouring States of the North East, particularly is welcome.
But so far, the bipartite talks and negotiations between the Government of India and NSCN (IM) seem to have doubtful propositions and as such inclusion of Manipur Government in the dialogue process becomes an urgent necessity in order to create a confidence in the minds of the people.
Furthermore, the meeting noted that while making all these efforts for a lasting solution, it has also been noticed that influx of many lakhs of outsiders inside the territory of Manipur without valid documents has created a very high social tension amongst different ethnic groups of people living in Manipur.
Therefore, the National Executive Committee of CPI demanded the Union Government to consider the unanimous decision of Manipur Legislative Assembly to introduce and implement an appropriate law that will prevent unlawful entry of outsiders into Manipur and regulate peaceful co-existence of different groups of people together.
