Thoubal, January 14 2017:
Alleging the authority of Ruda Academy, located opposite to Thoubal College, 40 students escaped from the school boarding, reports our correspondent.
The students were rescued by police at Kaina and Angtha foothills at around 4.40 pm today.
The students were later handed over to the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) before being handed over to the family members.
The students alleged the warden and other non-teaching staff members of Ruda Academy of physically assaulting them.
One student sustained a broken arm due to brutal thrashing.
The students also stated that when they asked for extra serving during the meal, they were told to blend the cooked rice with water and eat.
The students further alleged that on December 1, 2016, son of the school's founder took out a licence gun and threatened to kill them.
Members of KSA, DESAM and AMSU Thoubal District also interacted with the students at CWC office.
