Imphal, August 19 2020:
Allowing a few oil pumps to open during the lockdown due to coronavirus while shutting others has miffed many retail outlets.
Speaking to The Sangai Express today, some of the retail outlets expressed that as many as 28 out of the 37 IOCL (Indian Oil Corporation Limited) pumps have been shut and only 9 are allowed to open during the lockdown.
In addition, two NRL pumps have also been allowed to open.
The State Disaster Management Committee had convened an executive committee meeting and had entrusted CAF&PD to deal and manage the sale of petrol and diesel at pumps in the State, they said criticising and accusing the authorities concerned of being "biased".
They have been shut since March due to lockdown, they said appealing the authorities concerned to open the oil pumps on a roster/rotational basis.
If they are not allowed to open their oil pumps, the loss they suffer during the lockdown period should be well compensated by the authorities concerned, they said.
