Imphal, September 14 2011:
While expressing their gratitude to the people of Sadar Hills for their courage to assert their rights and duties, the Thadou Students' Association (TSA), Chandel has expressed its solidarity to the 20 hunger strikers and prisoners who are on indefinite fast for a full-fledged Sadar Hills district.
TSA in a press release stated, "We also like to salute all the brave mothers for facing the terrors of 43 Assam Rifles under the leadership of Major Anish Kutoch of Kangpokpi post and MajorBhavish of Motbung post".
The casualties caused by the hypocrisy of the AR officers bring a bad reputation to all the army units in the state, it claimed.
It also asked the AR to respect their slogan "Friends of Hill People" which adorn all their camps.
"The Sadar Hills issue is a priori synthetic issue of the state, if it takes longer, it may walk out from the state subject", it stated.
Urging for an urgent solution to the issue, TSA warned the state government of a big social unrest which may burn down the whole state.
While expressing their strong resentment on the government's decision of reorganization of Administrative and Police boundaries, TSA appealed to the state cabinet to reconsider its decision.
