Police Medal awardees announced

The Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India has announced the names of 10 personnel of Manipur Police for conferring the President's Police Medal for Gallantry, Police Medal for Distinguished Services and Police Medal for Meritorious Service on the occasion of 66thIndependence Day celebration tomorrow.
Jamkhongam Taothang (JC no.599, Jamadar, 5th Indian Reserve Battalion) and Leimapokpam Amarjit Singh (Havildar no.1207761, 2nd Indian Reserve Battalion) would be conferred the President's Police Medal for Gallantry while Additional Director General of Police (AP/Trg P Mallana Goud, IPS and Deputy Superintendent of Police (Ops) Bishnupur district Maibam Rameshwar Singh, MPS have been selected for the President's Police Medal for Distinguished Service.

The names of the other police personnel who would be honoured with Police Medal for Meritorious Service are Superintendent of Police, Bishnupur district Thokchom Radheshyam Singh, IPS; Deputy Commandant of 3rd IRB Lourembam Sanajaoba Singh, MPS; Assistant Commandant of 2nd IRB Thaumei Gaipuiril Kabui, MPS; Assistant Commandant of 7th IRB Swellinghope Chiru, MPS; Havildar of 4th IRB Chhatra Bahadur Bhattarai and Constable Konsam Sharat Singh of Imphal West district Police Control Room.
Separately, Government of Manipur yesterday announced to confer the Chief Minister's Police Medal for Gallantry to Sub-Inspector M Uttam Singh of Imphal East Commando Unit on the occasion of the Independence Day celebration, while the Chief Minister's Police Medal for Outstanding Devotion to Duty will be awarded to Subedar S Sunil Kumar, Subedar of Manipur Police Training Centre, Havildar Th Bharatchandra of 1st Manipur Rifles and Station Officer of Manipur Fire Service L Nabachandra.
