Speaking on the occasion, Dr Dhanabir Laishram decried that the State's Congress Government and the Centre's BJP Government have been playing blame game with similar objectives of scoring political advantages out of the protracted economic blockade without ever giving a thought to the extreme misery being endured by all sections of the society on account of the more than 100 days old economic blockade.
He said that at the present stage all the decisions of the United Naga Council (UNC) regarding the economic blockade are adopted at Camp Hebron.
As far as the people of Manipur are concerned, the Framework Agreement signed between the Government of India and NSCN-IM on August 3, 2015 remains a closely guarded secret even though the Centre's interlocutor for the political dialogue talked about the Framework Agreement with Nagaland MLAs on August 17 the same year .
The interlocutor also held another meeting on the Framework Agreement with various Naga organisations on December 3, 2015, Dr Dhanabir said.
He then said that all the communities living together in the State since time immemorial need to work together as one and share solidarity with each other so as to strengthen the bond of fraternity and promote uniform development of the State.
Senior Advocate Kh Mani attributed many of the issues plaguing the State to misgovernance.
He categorically stated that it is the duty of the State Government to explore a solution to the ongoing economic blockade.
It is the people who have been safeguarding the integrity of Manipur, not any political party.
Stating that the territory of Manipur does not belong to any particular community, Mani appealed to all the people to stand united and fight collectively against both internal and external forces which have been conniving to fragment Manipur.
Thangkhosai Haokip underscored the importance of plugging in whatever communication gap that exists among different communities of the State.
Chandra Haomei noted that many problems arose due to communication gap among different communities.
CSOs have immense responsibilities to bridge these gaps.
W Shamjai applauded the works done by AMUCO to being peaceful solution and communal harmony whenever any conflict breaks out among different communities in the State, be it in the hills or the valley.
He also expressed keen desire to hold dialogue among different communities at the district level so that each community knows and understands the problems and grievances of others.
People all over the world still remember the historic mammoth rally of August 4, 1997 which was participated by all the communities of the State and it rung out a clear message that no power can break the integrity of Manipur as long as the people remain united, Shamjai said.
