House dismantled, family ostracised for following Christianity: RCAC

A family at Nambol Maibam Kabui Khun in Bishunupur district was 'attacked' and 'ostracised' for following Christianity, alleged Rongmei Christian Advocacy Council Wednesday.
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club, chairman of RCAC Angan Pamei alleged that a mob, on October 7 at around 12.15 pm, ransacked and dismantled a dwelling house and a worship house at Maibam Kabui Khun belong to one Jonathan Pamei (56) .
The mob also 'physically assaulted' the family members in the incident which was directed against them following Christianity, alleged Angan while condemning police personnel present on the spot for not intervening in time to contain the situation.

All six member of the family including Jonathan's wife and children are taking shelters at relative\friend's houses, Angan said.
Strongly condemning the alleged incident and seeking stringent action against all those involved in the 'mob violence,' Angan said authorities concerned and State Government should take up all necessary measures to rehabilitate the family and ensure their safety at the earliest.
The Rongmei Christian Advocacy Council (RCAC) has also submitted memoranda to Chief Minister, Director General of Police and MLAs concerned on Wednesday, he said.
