CWC Bishnupur conducts press meet

All the necessary steps and due process have been taken up to ensure the future life of the three children of a woman involved in an incident of forceful marriage (Keina Katpa) for allegedly having illicit relationship with a bachelor at Upokpi Khunou under the jurisdiction of Bishnupur PS on October 6, said P Premchand Chairperson Child Welfare Committee (CWC) Bishnupur today.
In a press meet held at the office of the Committee today, P Premchand said that CWC Bishnupur, Child Protection Unit, Child Line Bishnupur and District Child Protection Unit are investigating the incident to come to a logical conclusion.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the first child (boy) of the woman was a school dropout, he added and said that the boy will be sent to a children home in Bishnupur district in December before the commencement of the next academic session.
The second child (girl) was found staying with a family outside Manipur and a notice has been sent to the said family to bring her to the office of CWC Bishnupur by October 25 before 11.30 am, he maintained and continued that the third child, who was seen in the viral video, will be put in a children home in the district from October 11 as the due process for the same has already completed.
The press meet was also attended by CWC member Secy O Maipakchao Singh and member Th Sudhir.
