Imphal, July 08 2014:
The Joint Students' Coordination Committee (JSCC), an umbrella body of six student organizations in the State, on Tuesday indicated that it would join the ongoing stir of Jiribam student bodies and demanded the Education Minister, Director and Commissioner to resign since they have not been able to translate their assurances into action.
The AMSU District Committee, MSF, Special Branch, DESAM Local Council and KSA Unit of Jiribam are currently spearheading an intense agitation demanding the State Government to recruit requisite teachers for all Government schools in the Imphal East's subdivision, but the latter has been keeping mum on the issue, Th Premananda, convenor, JSCC, alleged during a press meet at the office of KSA here.
The Education minister, Director and Commissioner should resign on moral ground as they have failed to implement the assurances given to fulfil the demands of Jiribam student bodies, Premananda demanded.
Moirangthem Angamba, co-convenor of JSCC, who was also present at the press meet, warned that the committee will join the ongoing indefinite strike by Jiribam student organizations in the event of the Government's failure to take up concrete steps to end the impasse at the earliest.
