36 govt schools failed to produce a successful candidate in HSLC 2011

Among the 230 government schools across the state, 36 schools failed to produce a single student who passed the HSLC Exam-2011, according to an official source of the BSEM.
Many popular government schools are among the 36 schools who fail to produce successful students in the examination.
Ram Lal Paul Hr Secondary School, Model Higher Secondary School, Takyel and Wangkhei High School through which 15, 8 and 13 students appeared for the exams failed to produce a single successful candidate.
Out of the 230 government schools across the state, 31 schools did not field students since they were either upgraded to Higher Secondary Level or had been derecognised.
The remaining, 23 schools are in such a pitiable situation that they fielded only five or even less students to appear in the examinations.
Haobam Marak HA Girls' High School, Kangvai Secondary School CCpur and Namtiram High School, Tousem fielded only one student each in the HSLC examination 2011.Nambol Collegiate High School, Ningthoukhong Sardar Patel High School, Lairenjao High School Heingang and Chingai High School Ukhrul fielded only two students each.
Among the government schools only 11 schools succeeded in fielding more than 100 students each.
Thangtong Higher Secondary School Saikul with 164 students, Noney Ashram School with 126 students, Phungyar High School with 140 students, Machi High School Chandel with 313 students, Maha Union High School 161 students, Chakpikarong High School with 159 students and Gandhi Memorial High School with 117 students were among the top schools which fielded the maximum number of students in the examinations.
Out of 7365 students of government schools who appeared in the examinations, 3992 cleared the examinations with 701 in first division, 2735 in second division and 556 in third division which is 54.20 percent of the total students.
Among the 86 Aided Schools in the state, 18 schools failed to produce a single successful student in the examination.
The 86 Aided Schools fielded 2187 students in the examinations out of which 104 passed in first division, 774 in second and 218 in third which is 50.11 percent of the total students.
Out of 508 private schools 16 failed to produce successful candidates in the examination.
Out of 25,391 students from private schools who appeared the HLSC Examinations 2011, 5964 students passed in first division, 12391 in second and 1292 in third divisions with a pass percentage of 77.34 percent.
As many as 56 private schools fielded more than 100 students each in the examinations.
MG Evergreen High School, Pallel with 723 students was at the top which fielded the maximum number of candidates.
The school had a 91.70 percent pass percentage with 663 clearing the examinations successfully.
Good Samaritan Public School Saikul with 584 students was in the second place in terms of the highest number of students who appeared in the exam while VM Nazareth English High School, Gangpijang was in third place with 529 students.
Good Samaritan Public School had a pass percentage of 95.03 percent with 555 students clearing the exam.
VM Nazareth English High School, Gangpijang had a pass percentage of 92.82 percent with 491 students clearing the examinations.
