Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh has assured that the assets of the Ministers and MLAs in SPF Government would be disclosed for sure and the exercise has begun.
On the other hand, permanent member of Congress Working Committee Luizinho Falerio, who is also in-charge of Manipur, has informed that efforts are being made to bring about a solution over the demand of United Naga Council.
Addressing a press conference along with permanent member of Congress Working Committee Luizinho Falerio, who is also in-charge of Manipur, at Congress Bhavan here today morning, Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh said that a Cabinet Sub-Committee, which has been set up for the purpose, has been looking into the matter related to disclosure of the assets of the SPF Ministers and MLAs and the necessary exercise is underway in the format circulated by the AICC.
However, the Chief Minister was caught by surprise and could not give any answer when asked for a definite time frame within which the assets of the Ministers and MLAs would be declared.
It may be noted here that the State Government has set up a Cabinet Sub-Committee headed by Revenue Minister Th Debendra to look into the matters related to disclosure of the assets and other properties owned by the Ministers and the MLAs.
The Cabinet Sub-Committee is supposed to submit a report to the Governor in this regard.

In connection with the hike in price of petroleum products, the Chief Minister informed that no VAT would be imposed on Kerosene in Manipur.
However, the rate of the taxes to be imposed on LPG would be the same to what is being imposed in other neighbouring States.
Pointing out that the demand for upgradation of Jiribam to a full-fledged revenue district is reasonable, the Chief Minister, however, expressed apprehension of other district demands if Jiribam is granted district status.
Refuting the charge of diverting funds provided for developmental projects in Manipur, the Chief Minister dared all to provide evidences to substantiate the charge.
Addressing the media, Falerio said that efforts are being made to bring about an amicable solution between the Government of Manipur and United Naga Council (UNC) over the latter's demand.
Pointing out that there is difference of opinion even within a family, Falerio observed that working out a solution does not mean dividing the family.
Giving credit to Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh for proper implementation of developmental schemes and projects in the State, Falerio said that the City Convention Centre being constructed at Palace Compound is of an International standard.
Regardless of numerous problems, Congress party has taken up many welfare measures for the people and all these have been possible on account of proper co-ordination between Congress party and the Government, Falerio said.
On the campaign of Anna Hazare and Ramdev, Falerio observed that the two have come out under the sponsorship of BJP after it suffered in the election.
The Congress led UPA Government at the Centre has been initiating necessary steps to fight against corruption, he said.
When asked about possible alliance between the Congress and the CPI in the upcoming Assembly election, Falerio maintained that it is too early to say anything in this connection and only time will tell.
