Imphal, July 21 2020:
The CPI Manipur State Council has demanded Chief Minister N Biren Singh to resign on moral ground and hand over the case of drug kingpin Lhukhosei Zou to CBI.
"MSC/CPI is surprised that even after a week, the CM has not given any answer to the allegations levelled against him by a lady police officer in her affidavit," it said.
"BJP Manipur Pradesh and BJP National leaders are also silent on the matter," it further said.
The statement of Brinda Thounaojam submitted to the Court was carried even by the BBC news as well as the National media, it said.
In a democratic country, when a PM, CM or any other Minister face serious allegations from the Opposition party or media, they usually resign, until an independent investigation clears their name, it added.
