CCpur, July 21 2020:
The COVID task force of District Hospital Churachandpur has today announced its decision to setup a flu clinic to be run by a dedicated team at the Isolation Ward of the hospital as part of its preventive measures against community transmission of COVID-19 in the district.
A meeting of the district task force held today noted that the district has received over 5300 returnees and have had over 166 Covid-19 positive cases till date.
While observing that they were discharged for home quarantine after the first negative test results, the committee consisting of health practitioners decided to set up a Flu Clinic with strict instructions to those intending to attend the Flu Clinic to call the isolation ward @ 6009966039 or 6009936764, instead of approaching the Casualty Department or stand in the OPD ticket counter/waiting area or move around in the hospital premises for the safety reasons.
Any person, including those in quarantine centres or under home quarantine intending to attend the Flu Clinic should enter the hospital through the eastern gate and directly approach the Flu Clinic by strictly following hospital protocol of washing hands at the gate and wearing face masks, said a task force's circular issued today.
Churachandpur has recorded 166 positive cases of COVID-19 as on July 21, 2020 .
Of these, 136 have recovered and their test results negative.
It currently has 30 active cases with 9 of them at the District COVID Care Centre and the remaining treated at Imphal.
This took the district's current recovery rate to 82 percent.
It may also be noted that Rapid Antigen Test (RAT), that return results in about half an hour, has been installed for the first time on Sunday, with 87 inmates of two containment zones undergoing the test.
Today, 35 more inmates of Don Bosco Quarantine facility - already identified as a containment zone - were tested for COVID-19 using RAT.
All inmates were discharged as their samples turned out negative.
56 new samples collected today from various facilities including 36 from a BSF company have been sent to JNIMS for PCR test.
