Jiribam, February 04 2019:
The counter complaint made to CM of Manipur by CSOs and students' organisation of Tamenglong district against renaming of Gularthol Police Outpost to Leingangpokpi Police Outpost by authority of Jiribam district is very unreasonable, said a statement released by the chairman of Ngamkhei Kanba Lup (NKL), Jiribam S Sushila Devi.
The statement maintained that Leingangpokpi, which is popularly known as old road Narando Basha, is situated on the right side of NH-37 (Jiribam to Imphal road) neighbouring Tousem sub-division, Tamenglong district.
The statement further mentioned that Gularthol Police Out was renamed to Leingangpokpi (Narandobasha) Out Post as per a Govt order and was upgraded to a police station after a cabinet decision adding that the address of the said out post is registered in the Land Record of Jiribam as 39 Leingangpokpi Village Under Patta No 37 recorded by CS Dagn No 138 & 139, Gularthol Police and outrightly rejected the claim made by the CSOs and students' organization of Tamenglong district that the said outpost comes within the jurisdiction of Tousem sub-division of hill district Tamenglong.
In the statement, NKL urged the authority concerned to come up with a solution so that the matter can be made done and dusted and acceptable to all.
