Duwa ceremony held

All Manipur Muslim Development Committee (AMMDC) organised a 'Duwa ceremony' today at Islamic English School for all the lives that were lost during the unfortunate incident of May 3, 1993 .
Lots of lives including students, women and children were lost in the incident which happened between the Meitei and Meitei Pangal community incited by some miscreants, said a statement issued by AMMDC.
All the attendee prayed for peace and harmony between all the communities and Manipur and for prevention of such unfortunate incident.
AMMDC said it was unfortunate that people from other communities was not able to participate in the ceremony due to the restrictions imposed by the Government due to the pandemic.
The communities have left that past behind and there is now a sense of mutual respect, love, peace and harmony amongst the communities, added the statement.
Simple gifts were presented to families of people who lost their lives and people who were left handicapped after the incident at the programme which was observed in strict adherence to all the SOP as mandated by the Government, added the statement.
All Manipur Muslim Students' Organisation (AMMSO) also observed the remembrance day via zoom call today.
