As investigation is going on against Col Ajay Chowdhry who is currently lodged in prison after he was arrested by police with drugs worth around Rs 25 crores in international market, it would be immature to comment on his faults or crimes, stated GOC 3 Corps Lt Gen AK Sahni.
Speaking to media persons at Leimakhong military garrison of 57 Mountain Division, Lt Gen Sahni mentioned that he is currently under Defence Ministry on deputation.
Notably, Col Ajay Chow-dhry has been already put under suspension.
On the other hand, Lt Gen AK Sahni distributed artificial limbs and calipers to 33 people who have lost their legs in IED blasts or other accidents during a free artificial limb transplantation camp held today within the military garrison.
Lt Gen AK Sahni said that the initiative to provide artificial limbs was taken up so that the amputees can get a new lease of life.
Altogether 19 amputees were fitted with artificial limbs at the camp today.
Due to grand success of the ongoing campaign, large number of people have been approaching for similar assistance.
30 fresh cases have been identified and their measurements have been taken to be fitted during third phase of the Free Artificial Limb Transplantation Camp on August 13.The beneficiaries range from road accident victims, people with deformed limbs and mine blast casualties of the mines planted by militant groups.
One Ngampao from Lonpi village of Chandel district who lost one of his leg in 2010 was all praise for the army's initiative.
