Lamka, April 21:
Inspector General of the border sentinel BSF, PK Mishra today attended a colourful attestation parade of STC BSF, Mualkawi, wherein 330 recruits took oath of dedicating themselves in the service of the Nation.
Today's attestation function held here was the second consecutive parade attended by Mishra, the man in-charge of BSF in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland and Cachar frontiers.

The recruits attested to the force today were trained in security and surveillance, tactics, field crafts, map reading, border management, field engineering, counter insurgency operations and on human rights.
Acrobat shows from the freshly inducted recruits, traditional dances and ballets from the BSF band adorned the ceremony.
The Subsidiary Training Centre here is the only such facility of the BSF in North East.
It has so far, ever since its inception, trained 25,935 recruits in 168 batches including the State Police and IRBs.
A batch of IRB officers from the Andamans and Nicobars were presently being trained at the centre.
Mishra, during an interaction with the media, credited the trainers and officers posted here for imparting the best of military tactics to so huge a recruit.
He also reiterated his earlier commitment on permanently stationing the BSF in Manipur.
"Though the task of manning the border in this part of the country is given to Assam Rifles, we will be here as desired by the people," he said.
On the problem of insurgency in the region, Mishra said the BSF has always adopted a lenient approach as it always is better to win their (militants) hearts, rather than to go against them and kill them.
'They are our children, they should be brought back.It is better to have a dialogue, we just can't solve everything with weapon,' he told the handful of reporters attending the ceremony.
