Murder of 4 Yr old kid : 5 suspects picked up

Along with taking out a protest rally at Ningthoukhong Bazar today decrying the murder of Thiyam Roberoy alias Ton of Ningthoukhong Kha-Khunou ward no.4, a memorandum has been submitted to the Chief Minister demanding punishment of the murderers.
On the other hand, Bishnupur police have reportedly picked up five persons, including a minor, for interrogation in connection with the incident.
However, the real motive behind the murder is yet to be established.
Reported to have been missing since the afternoon of May 18, the body of the four year old Thiyam Roberoy alias Ton s/o Thiyam Rockey and Thiyam Ongbi Resy of Ningthoukhong Kha-Khunou ward no.4, was found hanging inside the rest room of priestesses of Ibudhou Thangnarel temple at Ningthoukhong Kha-Khunou Ward number 4 yesterday afternoon.
The hands and the legs of the young victim were also found bound.
The temple where the body was found is located just behind the house of the victim and it is surrounded by roads on the north and east and fencing on the south and western side.
The rest room of the priestesses in which the body was found hanging was also locked from outside but there were signs of breaking in through the bamboo-woven walls on the northern side.

Organised under the aegis of the JAC Against Brutal Killing of Master Thiyam Roberoy alias Ton Singh of Ningthoukhong Kha-Khunou Ward no.4, the protest rally was taken out from Ningthoukhong Kha-Khunou and proceeded upto Loktak Project Thongkhong, after which a memorandum was submitted to the Chief Minister through Law Minister Th Debendra.
The memorandum demanded that all those who are involved in the murder of the boy should be identified and produced by the authorities concerned within 7 days.
In case of failure, the JAC has warned of launching intense agitations against the Government.
The memorandum further demanded payment of Rs 5 lakhs to the bereaved family.
Giving seven days' time to the murderers to surrender, the JAC has also announced its decision of banishing the murderers and their family members for life in case of failure and the people afterward came to know them.
Talking to mediapersons after submitting the memorandum at the Mandop of Ibudhou Thangnarel, vice president of the JAC S Manibabu informed that as the Chief Minister could not be met, the memorandum was submitted through Law Minister Th Debendra, who too has expressed strong condemnation over the incident and given assurance of making every possible measures of finding out the murderers.
The Minister, however, requested the JAC to claim the body which is still lying at the mortuary of RIMS.
But so far, the JAC as well as the family members have not taken any decision in this regard.
On the other hand, out of the five persons who have been picked up by the Bishnupur police for questioning in connection with the murder, four of them have been remanded to police custody further after being produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate of Bishnupur today.
As one of the suspects is a minor, he was produced before the Juvenile Justice Board in accordance to Juvenile Justice Act and subsequently kept at the observation home at Takyel, according to information received from Bishnupur police.
