A JAC formed in connection with the murder has called a bandh which would be effective from 6 am to 6 pm of the day.
The dead body of 34-year-old Leishangthem Roma Devi wife of Nimaichand, mention may be made, was retrieved by Heingang Police from Ahallup Loukon on April 21 .
A meeting organized by the Khabam Mayai Leikai Nupisingi Yaipha Samaj today formed the JAC to demand booking of the culprit(s) in the brutal murder of the woman.
Speakers in the meeting alleged that Roma was murdered after being sexually abused.
She was looted of her belongings like a gold necklace, gold rings, money along with a mobile handset.
The JAC termed it as a serious crime against women and resolved to press the government to book the culprit(s) at the earliest.
If no positive response comes up even after the bandh, the JAC will launch other forms of agitations, a statement of the JAC said.
