Will release list of Govt teachers establishing private schools: DESAM

Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) today declared that they will release the list of college teachers involved in establishment of private schools and those teachers focusing more on private tuition.
In a statement, the student body said some aided colleges are not maintaining proper records and their teachers are neglecting their duties and doing things in their own interest.
Though Naorem Birahari College was converted to an aided college in 2016 today it is marred with discrepancies with teachers dividing themselves into groups and feud over various issues in the media, said DESAM.
The student body added that a number of teaching and non-teaching staff have been appointed in the college without due procedure and some of the teachers are involved in establishment of private schools or giving private tuitions, neglecting their duties and this has adversely impacted on the college.
The student body also said aided colleges are supposed to be the taken a major role in improving and producing good quality students but it is the other way around.
