Education Minister stresses on importance of NAAC's Revised Assessment & Accreditation Framework

Imphal, November 15 2018:
Education Minister Thokchom Radheshyam conveyed that understanding the National Assessment and Accreditation Council's (NAAC) 'Revised Assessment & Accreditation Framework' (RAF) is the key for advancement of higher educational sector in the State.
The Minister was speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the State Level Awareness Workshop on RAF, jointly organized by the State Level Quality Assurance Cell (SLQAC), Directorate of University & Higher Education and State Project Directorate, RUSA Manipur at D M College of Science Hall, Imphal yesterday.
He appealed to the delegates from different colleges and institutes to get well acquainted with the revised framework in order to fulfil the necessary criteria of NAAC and carry out the Assessment & Accreditation Process (A&A process).
He said that getting accreditation from NAAC is a must for educational institutes to obtain academic support as well as financial assistance.
Commissioner, Higher & Technical Education, Vice Chancellor of Dhanamanjuri University, H Deleep said that the colleges and higher educational institutes should put its effort to overcome any weakness and improve its performance to get better grade of NAAC.
Director University & Higher Education W M Chenglei said that accreditation also provides an important benchmark and assures the quality of an institute apart from having a funding link with the UGC.
Advisor, NAAC, Bengaluru Dr MS Shyamsundar said that "Student Satisfaction Survey" has been introduced for teaching, learning and evaluation, which will help to upgrade the quality in the said sector.
Asst Adviser, NAAC, Bengaluru, Dr N Priya Narayanan, delegates from different colleges and institutions also attended the programme.
