U-17 Boys Football Tournament kicks off

Jiribam, November 15 2018:
Jiribam District Level U-17 (Boys) Football Tournament-2018, organized by District Administration Jiribam under Khelo India Scheme 2018-19, kick started today at Jiribam Higher Secondary School playground, Babupara Jiribam District at around 1.30 pm.
A total of eight teams will vie for the trophy in the tournament.
The opening function was attended by Robert Singh Kshetrimayum (IAS) Deputy Commissioner Jiribam District, M Brajakanta Singh President All Jiribam Sports Association and M Mubi Singh (MPS) Superintendent of Police Jiribam District as Chief Guest, President and Guest of Honour respectively.
Chief guest Robert Singh Kshetrimayum (IAS) Deputy Commissioner Jiribam District opened the Jiribam District Level U-17 (Boys) Football Tournament-2018.In the first preliminary round (knock-out) match, PSG Kalinagar thrashed Champanagar Muslim FC 7-1 while Gilgal YC team blanked FC Kagalung 2-0 in the 2nd match.
In the first preliminary round (knock-out) match, Champanagar Muslim FC team won the toss and chose the side while PSG Kalinagar started the game.
In the first half, Md Azim Uddin of Champanagar Muslim FC booked an early lead in the 2nd minute while Chuanmoia Duhlian of PSG Kalinagar equalised it in the 19th minute.
Pougai Rongmei added the second goal in the 25th minute and Gogu Singson extended the lead in the 34th minute to hand his team a 3-1 lead at the end of the first half.
In the 2nd half, Gaihiamlung Kamei (47'), Gogu Singson(61', 75') and Chuanmoia Duhiian (74') of PSG Kalinagar added four goals to wrap up the match with a convincing 7-1 win over Champanagar Muslim FC.
In the second preliminary round (knock-out) match, Gilgal YC team won the toss and elected side while FC Kagalung kick started the game.
Both the team played an evenly contested match in the 1st half but ended with goalless first half.
However, Philip Hmar of Gilgal YC scored one goal in the 72nd minute and Hnemei Sang doubled the lead in the 78th minute and won the match by 2-0 goals over FC Kagalung at the end of normal time.
