RJD to field 45 candidates

The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) on Thursday announced that the party will put up not less than 45 candidates in the upcoming polls to the 10th Manipur legislative assembly and the party strongman Lalu Prashad Yadav will be visiting the election bound state very soon.
RJD Manipur Pradesh President in-charge, Professor K Kumarjit said the party's national leader Lalu Prashad will be coming to Manipur for election campaign in December.
He also informed that the party will be fielding as many as 45 candidates in both the hill and valley districts in the forthcoming assembly poll.
Kumarjit was talking to the media at the party's office at Babupara here today.
RJD had fielded 28 candidates in the last Manipur assembly elections and only three candidates were elected but the party secured the second largest number of votes next to Congress in the election.
Kumarjit further informed that the party will be working to find ways to have a comprehensive dialogue with other like-minded political parties in the State to form an alliance.
This will come after consulting the higher command, he added.
