Anti-Drug campaign conducted at Kakching

As a part of the ongoing anti-drug campaign jointly organized by The All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU) and Coalition Against Drugs & Alcohol (CADA) in various schools of the State under the banner of the academic campaign "Lets' stand against substance abuse", an anti-drug campaign was held at MMS Genius Academy, Kakching Irengband road, Kakching District on September 7 at 11 am in the presence of Sanabam Birla, Vice Principal MMS Genius Academy, Sorokhaibam Nena, President CADA Kakching District Committee and Sh Ramcharan, Assistant teacher MMS Genius Academy as presidiummembers.
Dipanjit Ningthoujam, Secretary General CADA and Mayengbam Budhi, Secretary Organization CADA spoke as resource persons during the campaign.
Resource person, Dipanjit Ningthoujam said that our society is now facing a delicate situation and added that it is horrifying to see our younger generations, who are going to decide the faith of our future society, indulging in various contraband drugs on a large scale.
It is high time we took strong decision and started movement to ban the sale and use of contraband items in the State to save our youths from the evil effects of intoxicants and drugs.
Speaking as resource person, Mayengbam Budhi said that the first movement to ban the sale of liquor in Manipur started from Kakching while adding that drugs or substance abusers are beyond of capacity human thinking and students should stay away from this dreaded substance to become a healthy and successful person.
President, CADA Kakching District Committee Sorokhaibam Nena said that students should follow good habits and listen to their elders, parents and teachers to excel in their life.
Vice Principal, Sanabam Birla said that students\ should take advantage of every opportunity and added; that the anti-drug campaign held at the school is one of them.
