22nd Raising Day of Satjal Academy, Wangbal celebrated

A celebration function to observe the 22nd Raising Day of Meitei Huyel Langlon Sintam Sanglen (Satjal Academy), Wangbal Branch in Eastern Headquarter No 5, Charangpat, was held under the aegis of Universal Friendship Organisation (UFO) at Wangbal Mayai Leikai, Thoubal district, today.
The function which was held on the theme "Universal Love and Peace" began with the hoisting UFO flag at the premises of UFO Wangbal branch by the chief guest followed by paying of floral tributes and respect to the late members of UFO in the presence of scores of UFO member from different parts of Manipur.
Shedding lights on the underlying theme of holding the function, Commander Naokhomba shared that altogether 227 Satjal Academy had been opened and raised 38 Batallion so far in Kangleipak adding that Satjal Academy believes in peaceful co-existence and respect other culture and religion.
He further said that Kangleipak used to be an independent nation having her own scripts, religion, culture, rule of law, and self-sufficient kingdom for a long period of time and added that the episode of Puya Meithaba some 200 years back was the most unfortunate incident happened in the history of Kangleipak.
Stating that Kangleipak is home to more than 36 different communities, each community having their own culture, tradition and religion, the commander maintained that the UFO Society (Satjal Academy) was established to bring some order in the society which has been marred by chaos, indiscipline and directionless that has emerged in the last 300 years.
The function was also attended by former Dean of Manipur University who was also former Director of Centre for Myanmar and South East Asian Studies, Professor Wangkhem Nabakumar Singh as chief guest, former member Manipur Human Right Commission, RK Rajendra Singh, social worker RK Somorendro (Kaiku), president All Manipur Nupi Samaj Imphal, Ema Thokchom Ramani, pradhan Wangbal GP Heisnam Manichandra Singh and Legal Aid counsel, Imphal West Advocate Khuraijam Kanta as guests of honour.
