Sports pavilion and waiting shed handed to public

Without any funding from the MLA Local Area Development Fund, sports pavilion and waiting sheds have been constructed in different areas of Awang Sekmai costing around 25 lakh and have been handed over to the public.
The above statement was made by Khwairakpam Surjamani, president of Awang Sekmai Scheduled Caste Development Committee (ASSCDC) today while handing over Awang Sekmai Khunou Mathak Sports Pavilion to the public.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that the sports pavilion has been constructed for the welfare Of the youths of Awang Sekmai so that they can strive to lead a healthy and better lifestyle.
He further stated that the sports pavilion has been constructed from the interest received from loans given by ASSDC to many households of Awang Sekmai.
Koajengleiba Sports Pavilion was constructed in the similar way previously and has already been handed to the public and the committee will continue to construct such sports pavilion in the interest of the youths of Awang Sekmai, he added.
He also appealed to all to strictly adhere to Covid SOPs laid by the Government to protect oneself from the deadly pandemic.
The event was attended by presidents of ASSCDC namely Ayekpam Obo and Yumlembam Sharat, secretary Khwairakpam Ishwarchandra, treasurer Khwairakpam Anil and village elder M Chandrakriti, retired headmaster among others.
