The Designated Officer (Food Safety) has issued COVID-19 preventive guidelines for shoppers.
Besides wearing mask and maintaining social/physical distance, once shopping is done, shoppers should leave their shoes outside before entering the house.
The shopping bags should be kept in an isolated/segregated place and hands washed with soap and clean water.
Hand sanitiser or soap and water should be kept at the entrance of the house.
After shopping, people should change clothes on reaching home and put the used clothes for washing in a separate bin.
Afterwards, the food should be removed from the shopping bag.
Food items should not be left outside the house, in cars or garages as it could lead to food safety issues like temperature abuse and pest exposure.
Food packages should be sanitised/disinfected by wiping them with alcohol based solution or soap and clean water.
The sink and platform where the food items are washed should be sanitised/disinfected.
