CCpur gets its first COVID Care Centre

CCpur, July 02 2020:
Promising fast response and better treatment of COVID-19 patients, Churachandpur district has got its first Covid Care Centre.
Deputy Commissioner Pawan Yadav inaugurated the 50 bedded Covid Care Centre at NIELIT (National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology), Tuibong.
Speaking on the occasion, Yadav said that COVID-19 positive patients detected from the district will be treated and isolated from others at the Centre.
The centre will run under the overall supervision and guidance of Chief Medical Officer, Churachandpur.

Trained doctors, nurses and paramedical staff will be stationed at the centre to look after the patients, he said.
It may be mentioned that around 130 people from the district have tested positive for COVID-19 and 58 of them have recovered recently.
At present, the district has about 72 active cases.
About 4,524 people, who arrived from different parts of the country after May 10, have been screened.
6,800 samples have been collected so far for testing.
Lauding the efforts of frontline workers - medical and police team, the Deputy Commissioner appealed the people of the district to be on guard and strictly adhere to safety protocols like maintaining social/physical distance, wearing masks etc.
He also thanked the Director of NIELIT for extending cooperation to the people of the district by allowing the institution to be used as a Covid Care centre.
Rev Dr Ngulzathong, Pastor of CFC invoked prayer during the inauguration function.
Superintendent of Police Amrita Sinha, who was also present, urged all including the inmates of quarantine centres to follow the SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and extend maximum cooperation to the frontline workers.
The inauguration programme was also attended by CMO Dr Vumchinpau; Assistant Commissioner S Khaikhopau Ngaihte, medical staff and DLOs (District Level Officers) .
